Steve Fredette, the president and co-founder of Toast, will anchor the upcoming Founder Summit 2026 in Boston. The full-day gathering is scheduled for November 4 at the SoWa Power Station and is being hosted in partnership with Fidelity Private Shares. The event aims to bring together early-stage leaders, capital providers, and operators to navigate the complex decisions required before clear market answers are available.

The agenda extends well beyond the standard discussions on fundraising and artificial intelligence. Sessions are designed to address the practical challenges of customer acquisition, team assembly, and pitch refinement. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to developing founder leadership and scaling businesses both within traditional startup hubs and in emerging markets.

Fredette will take the Impact Stage to discuss how companies can maintain continuous innovation. His session, titled 'Building a Company That Keeps Reinventing Itself,' will explore how Toast evolved from a local venture into a publicly traded entity. The conversation is expected to examine how businesses adapt to shifting customer expectations and technological changes while remaining rooted in their original purpose.

Investor perspectives will center on the balance between expansion and caution. Kent Bennett, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, will lead a session on identifying product market fit prior to scaling. This talk will focus on the specific signals that justify increasing headcount, raising spending, or accelerating go-to-market strategies. Rudina Seseri, founder and managing partner of Glasswing Ventures, will address the timing of growth, exploring how to distinguish between moments that require acceleration and those where restraint protects the business.

The role of artificial intelligence in company architecture will be a key topic. Lior Div, CEO and co-founder of 7AI, will present on building organizations for AI from the start. His session will contrast the approach of adding AI features to existing processes with the strategy of designing a company's core architecture and operating model around the technology.

A local focus is evident in the lineup, with Chase Garbarino, CEO and co-founder of HqO, discussing the specific dynamics of building companies in Boston. His session will look at talent, capital, and community resources outside of the Bay Area. This emphasis, combined with the Toast session, highlights a theme that ambitious enterprises can be cultivated in Boston without replicating the Silicon Valley model.

Pitching skills will also be a major component of the day. Dave Balter, a venture partner at True Ventures and CEO of Edisyl, will lead a session on making pitches compelling enough to secure the next conversation. Later in the afternoon, founders will have the opportunity to present live to a panel of investors. Balter will be joined by Chirag Shah of Define Ventures and Simran Suri of Maveron to provide real-time feedback to the attendees.

Additional speakers include Hunter Worland of NEA, who will discuss distribution as a competitive advantage, and Vineet Edupuganti of Cogent Security, who will address building high-performing teams. Tina Tosukhowong of TDK Ventures will share insights on identifying category winners through hidden signals. Fidelity Private Shares will also contribute sessions on fundraising trends and enterprise relationships. The day will conclude with roundtables, networking opportunities, and a reception. Registrations ahead of the event include a 25% discount and a buy-one-get-one offer.
