Nearly 6,000 Ford pickup trucks are subject to a safety recall in Canada due to a potential defect in the left-side tailgate cable. The issue affects 2026 model year F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 vehicles. According to the recall notice, the cable may fail under load, causing the tailgate to drop suddenly and increasing the risk of injury. Ford will mail notifications to owners and instruct them to visit a dealership for cable replacement.
Audi has recalled nearly 4,000 electric SUVs, specifically the 2024 and 2025 Q4 e-tron models in Sportback and SUV body styles. The high-voltage battery in these vehicles may overheat, creating a fire risk even when the car is parked and turned off. Audi advises drivers to limit charging to 80 percent until repairs are completed. The manufacturer notes that the repair process is currently under development and will notify owners by mail.
Dodge has identified a defect in taillamp connectors on more than 1,000 vehicles. Damaged connectors can cause stop lamps, reverse lamps, or rear turn signals to fail, reducing vehicle visibility and increasing crash risk. Dealers will inspect and replace taillamps as needed. BMW is also recalling 2018 to 2020 5 Series and 2018 to 2019 7 Series vehicles. These cars were previously repaired under a different recall, but the engine starter may have been installed with an improperly secured positive battery cable. This loose connection could cause electrical arcing and a potential fire. BMW advises owners to avoid using remote start and to not leave vehicles unattended with the engine running until the starter is inspected or replaced.
General Motors has issued a recall for just two vehicles in Canada: the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse and the 2026 GMC Acadia. On these specific cars, the driver or front passenger seatback may not have been manufactured correctly. The seatback could move or detach during a crash, raising the risk of injury. Owners will receive mail instructions to replace the seatback frame at a dealership.
Hyundai is addressing an issue with front strut bolts on a small number of vehicles. Improperly tightened bolts could loosen or separate, affecting vehicle stability and steering control. Dealers will inspect the bolts, tighten or replace them if necessary, and perform a wheel alignment. Ford also recalled more than 2,000 Lincoln Navigators. A software issue in the rear audio control module may cause the front passenger seat to move unexpectedly or continue moving despite an obstruction. Dealers will update software to disable the chauffeur mode function. Additionally, over 200 hybrid Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus models are being recalled because the integrated parking module may cause the transmission to shift into neutral unexpectedly, leading to a sudden loss of power to the wheels.
These recalls were reported by Transport Canada for the week ending Oct. 30, 2026. Each automaker will notify affected owners directly regarding the specific repair procedures and timelines.
