Seattle police are searching for a suspect who shot two men Wednesday night following a dispute that began on a Metro bus. The incident occurred at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Holden Street in South Seattle.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 10:10 p.m. They found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim, a 26-year-old man, sustained a wound to his wrist. The other, a 33-year-old man, was shot in the leg. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the altercation started between the two victims and the suspect while they were riding the bus. The conflict continued as the group exited at the bus stop. The suspect fired at both men before fleeing westbound on South Holden Street.

A bystander who witnessed the aftermath described the scene to FOX 13 Seattle. The witness stated that between seven and 11 shots were fired, with a final shot ringing out at the end of the exchange. The witness noted that police vehicles arrived quickly after the gunshots. One of the injured men was loaded into an ambulance shortly after.

Officers deployed a K9 unit to search the surrounding area for the suspect. As of 8 a.m. Thursday, the suspect had not been located. The Seattle Police Department had not released a physical description of the individual at that time.

Detectives from the SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation. Investigators are working to determine the specific circumstances that led to the shooting. The department is asking anyone with information to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
