Samsung released a formal list identifying 40 Galaxy smartphones and tablets that will receive One UI 9, the company's new software build based on Android 17. The announcement provides a concrete timeline for when these devices will access the new operating system features. This rollout follows the initial release of One UI 9 in September, which was exclusively available for the Galaxy S26 series before expanding to earlier generations.
The device roster includes the current flagship lineup, specifically the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Previous generation flagships such as the Galaxy S25, S25 Ultra, S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra are also included. Samsung confirmed that all Z Fold and Z Flip models from the past three years will get the update. These include the Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
Mid-range options on the list cover the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25. The tablet section of the document is extensive. It names the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, the Tab S10, S10+, S10 Ultra, S10 FE, S10 FE+, and S10 Lite. Older models such as the Tab S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, and S9 FE+ are also slated for the upgrade. The list concludes with the Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro.
Samsung Japan published the specific dates for this rollout. The company stated that updates will arrive in that region during October and November 2026. While the timing is region-specific, the list of eligible hardware is expected to apply globally. The document does not include every possible candidate. Notable omissions include the 'Plus' variants of recent S-series flagships and several other A-series models sold in different markets.
The company plans to continue the global rollout beyond the Japanese schedule. Entry-level devices are likely to receive the software between December 2026 and January 2027. This phased approach allows Samsung to test the software on flagship devices before pushing it to a wider range of hardware. The update marks a major shift in the company's software strategy, moving away from the previous naming conventions for major Android releases.
Samsung has not provided a single global date for the completion of the rollout. The company will continue to publish updates as new batches of devices receive the software. The list serves as the official guide for owners to check if their specific model number is included in the current wave of updates.
