A private car sale on Aldrich Road ended in violence when the buyer struck the seller and drove away with the vehicle. The incident occurred on October 22, prompting a search that lasted four days before police identified the suspects.
Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Aldrich Road after receiving a report of a motor vehicle theft involving an assault. The victim had met a man at a retail store on Meridian Street to inspect a car for sale. During the test drive, the man stopped the vehicle and ordered the victim to exit.
The man punched the victim in the head repeatedly. A second suspect, a woman, arrived in a separate vehicle and began hitting and kicking the victim. The victim stated that one of the suspects grabbed their throat, restricting their airway. The man then drove off in the victim’s car, while the woman left in her own vehicle.
Investigators identified 57-year-old David Jackson and 58-year-old Blanca Jackson, both residents of Nooksack, as the primary suspects. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the one seen leaving the scene in the Jacksons' driveway. The couple was arrested and booked into the Whatcom County Jail on October 25, 2026, without incident.
Probable cause supported charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and theft of a motor vehicle. The arrests concluded a brief investigation into the physical altercation and subsequent loss of the vehicle.
